What are GIS?
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Geographical Information Systems are what's needed to collect, manage, present and analyse data in 2-dimensional space. These compilations can subsequently be used to create comprehensive and engaging maps from which meaningful insights can be extracted.

Why are GIS important?
UNDERSTANDING THE PLANET

The knowledge of how different features on the Earth's surface are organised and or relate to one another enables humanity to better understand how we interact with the planet, and vice versa. As a result, GIS have a truly vast array of potential applications, from scientific settings all the way through to more routine 'everyday' uses.
